Tom Soderstorm: I think Big Data, for us… Six years ago, clock computing was the big driver and we’ve realized those benefits. Big Data is the big driver now. An what [Name] said is absolutely right on. If we can get out of the way and get the citizens to help analyze the science that’s a big win for us. So, right now we’re focusing on hackathons, we’re focusing on crowdsourcing, but how do you get the crowd to participate? You have to make the data available in some way that they want to see it. Our data is usually in a format that only other scientists can like. So we put the data in the JSON format and we had a sixteen-hour hackathon and we got wonderful visualizations of data from seven satellites by the crowd, mostly college kids. It was fantastic.
JIm Flyzik: Terrific.
Tom Soderstorm: So I think that’s one. The other one is going from a culture of anecdotal decisions to data-driven decisions, where we can query the data right away. Self-service analytics is the key to us.
