Dr. Theresa Cullen: So I’m going to put a big challenge out there and I think it’s one the entire industry - that we don’t really do healthcare, we do disease care. And we do that fairly well and the VA excels at that actually. We do chronic care. We do it within the 4 walls of the hospital that Dave talked about, but to move to healthcare, to move to this ultimate goal of health which is actually Gale what Karen Disalvo’s really been focusing on at the office of the national coordinator is going to require us to really look at all the technology solutions we’ve done.
Many of which are so appropriate and have enabled us to make huge advances in clinical care, but as we move to this next level of health, this continuum of care, this lifetime of care, very critical to the Veteran’s Health Administration, as we look to achieve health equity for our veterans what we need is new tools.
So many of the challenges I think are identifying what are the issues, what’s the business process, what are the tools that we take outside of the traditional purview of health IT and Craig I think you’re right. Not only do the, is there a generational gap, but the generation of new physicians, of new healthcare providers and the healthcare team, I’m sorry, they’re not really interested in bringing the computer in the room. We’re making them do it. But we got to figure out what are those next solutions.
